Survey seeks opinions on garbage and recycling services

tnrd-trash-feb2017The TNRD is looking for feedback from residents about their current garbage and recycling services and what they’d like to see in the future.

The survey, which will close at the end of this month, is part of the Regional Solid Waste Management Plan Review. It’s open to all TNRD residents and member municipalities and features a chance for anyone who fills it out to be entered in a draw for one of two prizes — a $100 VISA card or a home composting kit.

A link to the online survey can be found at tnrd.ca or by clicking here, and copies will be available at libraries, municipal offices or TNRD waste sites. Draw winners will be announced in mid-March.

Reviews of the solid waste management plan are done periodically with guidance from the B.C. Ministry of Environment. The last review was completed in 2008. Work done over the next 18 months of so will set direction for the management of solid waste in the TNRD for at least 10 years.

The process will include public consultations and continued input from three separate committees, and will be guided by a consultant, staff and the ministry’s new “Guide to Solid Waste Management Planning.”
