PRITCHARD — The beach at the bridge is looking really good right now. A TNRD crew installed a sign this week and a porta potty has also been installed.
That, plus the bear-proof garbage can and grading and gravelling of the entrance area has made this pretty little unofficial park really shine. The whole pilot project is being funded jointly by Electoral Areas P and L (Director Ken Gillis) in co-operation with the various government ministries who have jurisdiction.
Special thanks also to Marc Coray for supplying the equipment and labour to spread and compact the gravel at the entrance area. Marc is well-known as the dedicated fire chief of the Pritchard Fire Department but he also owns and operates C4 Mobile Repairs. His community spirit is much appreciated.
Volunteers from the community continue to empty the garbage cans on a regular basis.
Also this week, a fire hazard rating sign was posted just east of Pinantan. This complements one already erected on the west side, as well as one at Paul Lake. These signs are funded through my discretionary budget for Area P. The ratings are being kept current by volunteers.
Thanks to all for your community spirit.
