PRITCHARD — I had the pleasure of joining Electoral Area L Director Ken Gillis today (Sunday, July 10, 2016) to cut a ribbon officially opening the new 350-seat grandstand at the Pritchard rodeo grounds.
Ken was the driving force behind the replacement of the old worse-for-wear grandstand with a brand new structure that will last for decades. The largest share of the cost came from federal gas tax funds designated for his electoral area, and I committed a significant amount from Area P’s pool of gas tax funding as well. The remainder came from the Pritchard Community Association.
The grandstand was full for today’s rodeo, and organizers reported that yesterday also saw an excellent turnout despite some questionable weather. Congratulations to the organizers and volunteers who stage the rodeo — I’m told this was its 22nd year.
