A music festival that had caused concern to the TNRD with respect to permits has pulled out of plans for Allie Lake Ranch near Vidette and will relocate to Agassiz.
The TNRD issued a media release last week saying permits for the Electric Love Festival hadn’t been obtained and that there were a number of concerns about the event ranging from wildfire to security to health and safety.
Organizers of the festival announced to media Monday that it will still be held on the B.C. Day long weekend but will move to the Cheam Fishing Village in Agassiz.
Organizer Dennis Nukina told media the festival had been looking for an alternative site for some time.
“We have spent the past few months exploring different venue options and were unable to find suitable land in the Kamloops area,” a statement to media said.
“We sincerely apologize to all festival-goers and will offer full refunds to those who can no longer attend at the new location. Full refunds will be issued at the point of purchase up until July 4.”
