Are Heffley Creek depot hours working?

Heffley Creek Eco-Depot

Heffley Creek Eco-Depot.

HEFFLEY — Is the winter schedule for the Heffley Creek Eco Depot the right one?

Residents who use the facility will be asked that question in a survey starting this week.

A survey last summer showed that most people were happy with the depot being open Saturdays but closed Sundays. I received some feedback that suggested the response might be different if the question was asked during winter, so the second survey is a way of finding out.

Current winter hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Any change in hours wouldn’t involve an expansion, simply a re-arrangement of hours. A half-day opening on Saturday and Sunday is a possibility.

No changes are being considered for the summer schedule, which is Tuesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Winter hours are in effect from October 1 to March 31 and summer hours are in effect from April 1 to Sept. 30.

Survey forms will be located at the eco-depot scale house and online at TNRD.ca. The survey will close April 1.
