Two public hearings held
A public hearing was held for Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2537, 2016, Application No. BA 92, affecting 6784 Trans Canada Highway, Savona.
The applicant was looking to rezone a 1.4-hectare parcel from I-3: General Industrial to C-2: Service Commercial to enable the property owners to use the land for cargo trailer sales, storage and service. Zoning Amendment By;aw No. 2537 was given third reading and adopted.
A public hearing was also held for Cherry Creek-Savona OCP Bylaw No. 2538, 2016, and Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2539, 2016, Application No. BA 109, affecting the property at 3672 Sabiston Creek Road, on the north shore of Kamloops Lake.
The applicant was seeking to re-designate and rezone the property to enable strata conversion subdivision and a shift in how the land will be used in future. Both Bylaw 2538 and 2539 were given third reading and adopted.
Appointments to PMAC committee
The following individuals were appointed to the TNRD Solid Waste Management Plan Monitoring Advisory Committee (PMAC): Brian Reid; Bob Rexin, Cheryl Thomas; Josie Wilson; and Santa D’Aquino.
Two libraries to shift hours
The Lytton Library will no longer be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and instead will be open Tuesdays from 2 to 6 p.m. As well, the current Thursday hours of 3 to 7 p.m. will be shifted back an hour, to 2 to 6 p.m.
The Clearwater Library will now be open on Fridays from noon to 6 p.m., instead of from 1 to 7 p.m.
A public meeting will be held to determine the best opening hours for the Barriere Library.
Revenue Anticipation Bylaw Adopted
Revenue Anticipation Bylaw No. 2542, 2016, was adopted. It allows the TNRD to meet expenditures prior to receipt of annual revenues on Aug. 1.
