HARPER MTN. — A new biking trail will be built this summer, thanks to funding from Electoral Area P’s gas tax fund.
The TNRD board approved my recommendation today (Thursday, Feb. 18) to provide $7,500 towards construction of a trail planned by the Kamloops Performance Cycling Centre to expand the Harper Mountain Trail Network south of Paul Lake.
The machine-built trail will be suitable for riders of all levels. The KPCC has managed the Harper Mountain network, a 25-km. public mountain biking trail network, since 2014.
The new trail will complement a 10-km. cross-country climbing trail developed in 2015.
Total cost of the project is $12,500, with the KPCC providing $5,000.
