PINANTAN — Fortunately, the wildfire season is winding down for the year but the next one will come along all too soon. Recently, the Pinantan East Paul Lake Community Association asked me for help in getting a couple of wildfire signs.
Kayla Pepper of the Kamloops Fire Centre’s communications office soon got hold of a Campfire Ban sign and before you know it, it was installed on the existing fireworks sign just outside Pinantan.
The PEPLCA has also committed to keeping a fire-danger rating sign up to date, so I’m making arrangements to have one made to fire centre standards, paid for from my Electoral Area Director’s discretionary budget. We’ll work with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for the necessary permission to have it installed for next spring.
Thanks to the community association for taking this initiative.
