The next phase of the master plan expansion to Royal Inland Hospital was announced today in front of a crowd of local politicians, media and RIH staff. I attended as a member of the regional hospital board.
Health Minister Terry Lake said the plan for a new patient care tower will be developed as construction continues on the parkade and clinical services building in front of the hospital.
Creating the plan will cost an estimated $1.9 million. Part of that plan is to come up with an estimated cost of the project itself.
Following the announcement, Lake, Transportation Minister Todd Stone, regional hospital district Chair Peter Milobar and other officials were taken for a look at the progress of construction on the clinical tower.
